It was Chillin boy's mummy's birthday, so we bought a Berries-Passionfruit cake from Green Pumpkin and it's so pretty we almost couldn't bear to cut it.
We've bought cakes from Green Pumpkin before and the last time was for my dad. We all know how old folks are, they prefer a less sweet and less fattening option. Hence Green Pumpkin is a great choice, this little Japanese bakery believes in a concept of using no preservatives and additives and their bread and cake flavours are mainly fruits and as it's name speaks, pumpkins.
Here's a picture of the pumpkin cake we bought last year, unfortunately I couldn't find any pictures of the whole cake, only this which I've taken a bite out of...
Their cakes always taste fluffy and not too oily/buttery so you don't get the 'jelat' feeling after eating it, which is usually the problem with most cream cakes. So this is a great choice if you want to get something less sinful for the family to enjoy.
Very inspiring dessert indeed and the Chillin team might just have pumpkin gelato in the pipeline, who says ice cream can't be a healthy option?
And in case anyone's interested in Green Pumpkin, they are @ Serangoon Central Nex B1-80.
